Spirits of the Sacred Directions

Medicine Wheel Art Print by Roberta Orpwood

Spirits of the Sacred Directions reflects the symbolic framework often known as the Medicine Wheel. The four directions are honoured as aspects of balance, perspective and relationship with the living world.

Within many traditions, the Sacred Directions represent cycles of life, seasons, elements and stages of growth. They remind us that we stand within a circle, not at the centre of it.

This painting brings together spirit animals and directional guardians as a visual meditation on wholeness. It invites reflection on balance within the self and right relationship with earth, sky and community.

This illustration was commissioned for The Ultimate Guide to Shamanism, published by The Quarto Group Publishing USA and written by Rebecca Keating, founder of Shaman Sisters.

Each print is professionally produced using archival pigment-based inks on heavyweight, acid-free textured fine art paper, ensuring exceptional colour depth and longevity.
