I am Roberta Orpwood - Shamanic Medicine Artist, Visionary Illustrator, and Shamanic Practitioner.
My work is born from a deep communion with Spirit, sacred ceremony, and a life devoted to remembering and restoring the soul through creative expression.

Shamanic Medicine Artist
Roberta Orpwood is a London-based Shamanic Practitioner and internationally-published Oracle Illustrator known for her visionary watercolours, spiritual seership, and devotion to sacred art.
Her paintings act as portals of healing, awakening the spirit through colour, ceremony, and mythic symbolism. Rooted in Shamanic living and spiritual devotion, her artwork bridges the visible and invisible worlds, offering sacred mirrors of transformation and remembrance.
Roberta’s work has been published by Hay House, Blue Angel Publishing, and Quarto, and can be found in widely loved titles such as The Tree of Life Oracle, The Crystal Power Tarot, and The Ultimate Guide to Chakras.
Early Life & Artistic Awakening
Raised in a creatively rich household, Roberta was immersed in the worlds of visual art and craft from a young age. With a British surrealist painter as a father and a South American artisan as a mother, she was encouraged to explore art as a sacred expression. Private mentorship from local artist Sally Porch from the age of six laid the foundation for a lifelong artistic path.
After earning a degree in Fine Art & Art History, Roberta worked across the worlds of art, crystal healing, and esoteric study—eventually managing Totnes' iconic ‘Crystals’ store while deepening her work with shamanism, reiki, and plant medicine. SoulBird Art was born from this weaving of spirit and creativity in 2012.
Shamanic Practice & Visionary Art
Her ongoing relationship with plant medicines gently guided her toward a life of ceremonial living and exploring a spiritual path. Along the way, she encountered a select group of extraordinary teachers who helped deepen her understanding of spirit and healing. This path eventually led to formal training as a Sound Therapist with the founder of The Sound Healing Academy, Tony Nec, and as a Shamanic Practitioner with a variety of teachers, grounded in both classical and core shamanic traditions.
As a result, she began offering Sound Baths and sound healing sessions within her local community and at corporate events, sharing the restorative power of vibrational medicine.
Today, Roberta works as a Shamanic Healer, weaving together the intuitive language of visionary art and the soul’s medicine into all of her offerings.
Her Shamanic Medicine Paintings bridge the worlds between ordinary reality and the spiritual realm. Infused with myth, meaning and Spirit wisdom these works carry a profound reverence for nature and offer symbolic messages and healing to those ready to receive them. Her inspiration flows from spirit animals, shamans, and medicine women — all revealed through direct communion and visionary journeying between the worlds.
