White Buffalo Calf Woman Sacred Peace Pipe

Keeper of the Sacred Pipe

White Buffalo Calf Woman stands as a holy messenger of peace, prayer and sacred covenant. In this painting she extends the chanunpa, the peace pipe, toward the viewer — an invitation to enter right relationship with Earth, Spirit and all living beings. In Lakota tradition, she brought the pipe as a living bridge between humanity and the Great Mystery, teaching ceremony, gratitude and the power of prayer carried on breath.

Originally illustrated for The Ultimate Guide to Shamanism, this image has become one of the most cherished prints within my Shamanic Collection. It serves as a reminder that peace begins within, and that every prayer offered with sincerity becomes part of the greater weaving of harmony.
